Tai Duncan

Tai Duncan is an Equity-driven Leader, Attorney, and Board Member, driving industry-wide transformation by championing social impact for innovative companies. Throughout her two-decade-long career, she has led change toward more inclusive development, meaningful engagement, and progressive growth.

As Vice President of Community Integration at Cresco Labs, Duncan prioritizes inclusion, justice, and sustainability through community engagement. Duncan drives policy and program creation, national-level procedures, and cross-functional responses to pressing societal challenges by leading the company’s environmental, social, and governance initiatives. 

As a former athlete, Duncan seamlessly integrates her passion for basketball into her professional life, leveraging the transformative power of sports to promote personal growth and well-being. Through her leadership at Positive Coaching Alliance and Swish House, she has provided strategic direction and legal counsel, aligning businesses with their missions to improve youth sportsmanship and promote health and wellness through basketball fitness.

At Ariel Investments, LLC., the largest minority-owned investment firm in the US, Duncan led community engagement to bolster financial literacy and higher education in Chicago’s south side and increase diversity in corporate governance. As part of the City of Chicago’s legal team, she provided counsel on sensitive matters, including discrimination and hiring practices.

Operating with a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) lens, Duncan actively pursues opportunities to advance equity across industries and platforms. She is intentional in her advocacy, focused on creating opportunities that progress the representation and elevation of People of Color, women, and other marginalized groups.

Fueled by a community-centric spirit, Duncan serves on the boards of several organizations, including Illinois Women in Cannabis and Imerman Angels. She aims to foster diversity, justice, and environmental sustainability, influencing industries to progress toward more equitable practices.

Duncan’s leadership style is rooted in empathy and empowerment, fostering an environment where individuals feel seen, uplifted, and encouraged to be their authentic selves. She is committed to promoting positive change in communities, ensuring access to quality resources, and creating safer spaces.

Duncan holds a JD from the University of Iowa and a BA in Sociology, with a concentration in Gender & Women’s Studies, from Grinnell College. Residing in Chicago with her husband, son, and dog, Maya, Duncan continues to build a legacy that inspires others to effect change and pave the way for future generations.
