Dr. Jennifer Monti is a cardiologist and critical care physician with a range of entrepreneurial experiences spearheading innovative thinking and solutions at the intersection of medicine, public health, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Monti is the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Hemos, LLC, a medical device firm focused on non-invasive estimation of systemic vascular resistance (SVR). She currently serves on the Biotech Board for the Maine Technology Institute (MTI), advising on investments in early stage biotech companies with a presence in Maine. Additionally, she serves on the advisory board for Cliexa, a digital platform solution that helps clinicians leverage patient-reported data to improve clinical care, maximize compliance, and garner effective reimbursement.
Her range of public health experiences include serving as a deputy to the health commissioner in Baltimore City. In this role she founded the Virtual Supermarket, which has become a model public-private partnership to ensure delivery of grocery store quality goods into food deserts across the city. The project has been successfully funded for over a decade and has transitioned from a local partner (Santoni’s) to a national partner (ShopRite) operating at fourteen sites across the city.
Dr. Monti is currently in practice at MaineHealth in Portland, Maine, where she has developed expertise in structural imaging and cardiogenetics. She served as an assistant professor at Tufts, and is an active member of the institutional review board at MaineHealth.
