With over 15 years of experience as a Counselor for learners and leaders, Brown has empowered thousands of individuals to believe in their intrinsic worth. From private schools and academies to public community centers and organizations, Brown has shaped inclusive spaces to support unique life journeys.
In her current role as a Counselor for The Bush School in Seattle, Washington, Brown is unlocking the inherent worth of each individual, one learner at a time. Brown’s expertise has grown from supporting young people navigating self-discovery amidst challenges like mental health issues, gender transitions, sexual exploration, and the quest for social acceptance. Her intimate perspective has made her an invaluable resource for many seeking guidance in understanding and supporting individuals to learn and grow into themselves.
Brown’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s in Human Ecology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She furthered her expertise with a Master’s in Social Work from the prestigious University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. This solid educational foundation is laced with vibrant experiences like her semester abroad in Zimbabwe and a year working in New Zealand, enriching her insights and perspectives.
Brown’s journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to guiding individuals toward self-actualization. As a Founding Leader of GEMS World Academy, she crafted a comprehensive counseling program and mentored emerging leaders aspiring to careers in mental health. In her earlier role as a Social Worker, she pioneered programs promoting positive behavior and mutual respect; and her initial tenure as a Social Worker and Coach was marked by a holistic emphasis on the overall development of youth.
Brown annually attends key education conferences, including the National PBIS Conference in Chicago, the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium in Washington, DC, and the Anti-Bullying and School Safety Conference in Chicago. Through these events, she both shares her knowledge and learns, always aiming to expand her understanding and influence those around her.
