Rosie Dickens, a Globally-Recognized Tech Visionary and Operational Growth Strategist, is democratizing the digital landscape through innovative leadership in product and business development. With a career spanning almost two decades, Dickens has boldly tackled complex challenges with renowned technological solutions that enhance lives across the world.
With over a decade of upper-level leadership at Google, Dickens’ ability to metamorphose teams, cultures, and organizations has redefined the trajectory of key business units for the international tech giant. Dickens distinctively leads at the nexus of building digital solutions and crafting scalable strategies, amplifying both the reach of products and their consequent business impact.
Currently, as a Director of Strategy & Business Operations at Google, Dickens has transformed an underperforming business unit into a multi-billion-dollar division, setting a new industry benchmark for enterprise payment solutions. By turning a service-based offering into a product-centric operation, Dickens drove over $2 billion in additional revenue and cost savings and enabled over 230 countries to seamlessly transact through the tech giant’s new payment infrastructure.
Equitable access to transformative technology is at the heart of Dickens’ motivation. Previously, as a Senior Product leader at Google, Dickens led the company to implement new technologies in emerging markets, including a pivotal leadership role in Sub-Saharan Africa. While leading life-changing product development for the underdeveloped region, Dickens navigated the maze of regulatory compliance and artfully crafted partnerships that helped Google scale its reach and impact.
Throughout her career, Dickens has championed the creation of tools and resources that contribute to sustainable and equitable societal solutions. This drive has been evident since the early stages of her career when she advised companies in understanding regulatory nuances and guided them through international expansions.
Coming from a lineage of trailblazers, Dickens, alongside her wife, seeks to continue paving a path of increasing opportunity for her daughter, just as generations before her have done. Embracing her mother’s legacy, Dickens too became a NASA engineer and proudly continues a rich tradition as the fourth successive female graduate in her family from the prestigious Howard University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and was an active member of the National Society of Black Engineers and the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Her academic journey continued at The George Washington University Law School, where she acquired her Juris Doctorate and was actively involved with the Black Law Student Association.
Deeply rooted in her Black, Queer, and female identities, Dickens celebrates the power of multifaceted perspectives. Driven to promote equity via technology, Dickens leads solutions that champion both inclusive involvement and varied innovation, while scaling reach and impact to serve both creators and users in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.
